It is simply beautiful to live in the Hanse-City of Rostock, with the Baltic Sea and the river Warnow right at your doorstep.
Welcome to the very attractive beachfront district of the city, the Baltic Sea resort town Rostock-Warnemünde, also affectionately dubbed the `bathtub´ of Berlin. High-quality residential areas, a healthy sea-breeze, close vicinity to the beach, a maritime flair during every season and the romantic coastal forests, altogether, an extremely attractive place to live.
The Kröpeliner Tor-Vorstadt is an ideal quarter for young people. Particularly students appreciate this area, as it is very close to the university facilities.
In the Steintor-Vorstadt, the atmosphere is dominated by old mansions and Wilhelminian style apartment houses. The flavour is one of respectability.
Downtown is where life is buzzing. Shopping malls such as the Rostocker Hof, the St. Jacobi |

Passage and the Kröpeliner Tor Centre (scheduled to open at the end of 2006) invite you take a stroll through. High class hotels are very centrally located. Restaurants, cafés and pubs in the city centre, old town or at the waterfront at the city harbour draw the city’s inhabitants to spend an evening out on the town.
The residential areas in the north-west of Rostock have been totally redeveloped and are now very much in demand. Convenient shopping centres, such as the Warnow Park with its neighbourhood cinema, offer a colourful blend of goods and entertainment. The health and service centre in Lütten Klein is a medical complex where many specialists have their practices.
Northeast of Rostock are the conveniently accessible quarters Toitenwinkel, Dierkow and Brinkmannsdorf. Many Rostock inhabitants, particularly young families, enjoy living in Reutershagen, the Hansaviertel, in the Gartenstadt and in the Südstadt.
