Oehm und Rehbein GmbH, a leading provider of medical system solutions, will begin construction of its new headquarters in Rostock in February. The company’s new office on the grounds of the former Neptun shipyard will create up to 10 new jobs in the Hanseatic City of Rostock. Oehm und Rehbein has had a presence in Rostock since the beginning of the 1990s, and is expanding its operations to keep pace with growing demand in the medical industry. The project for the five-storey building erected on a site of 3,500 m² has an investment volume in the millions.
Managing Director Bernd Oehm is excited about the new headquarters building: “The excellent conditions and superior location led us to choose the former Neptun grounds as the location of our new headquarters. We are planning a strategic expansion of our company in the areas of support, training, and production which necessitates this move.” The technology and support department will be expanded, and a training center set-up. Additionally, capacities for production of components for or even entire digital X-ray systems will exist.
Roland Methling, Mayor of the Hanseatic City of Rostock, views these developments positively. “The investment in a new company headquarters for Oehm und Rehbein GmbH is an important step for securing the future of the company. The number of employees of this important Rostock company will increase to over 40”, remarks Methling. “This commitment illustrates the potential and attractiveness of Rostock as an excellent business location”, comments Mayor Methling.
