Rostock Business is presenting the Wind Energy Network Rostock and Partners at the Baltic Future exhibition in Rostock
Rostock, April 2010: The offshore wind energy industry continues to play a leading role in the economic development of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In particular the Hanseatic City of Rostock – the economic center of the state – offers local companies as well as international partner companies new growth potential. The first milestones were achieved in the past years, thus strengthening the potential for the future, a fact which is attested to by the numerous local companies working in the industry that have been able to expand. A further milestone was achieved at the beginning of March 2010 with the beginning of construction of Germany’s first offshore wind farm “EnBW Baltic 1” off the coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Rostock Business as network coordinator is presenting the Wind Energy Network Rostock e.V. at the Baltic Future from 04-06 May 2010. With 55 members, the network is a platform for the entire value chain of the wind energy industry, and is engaged in active lobbying, building networks, bundling of information and know-how, presentation of the network at exhibitions, and strengthening the position of local companies as well as attracting new companies in the wind energy industry to the region. “As a regional network, we are supporting the establishment of the Baltic Future trade fair, in particular its focus on offshore wind energy. We are pleased to take part in the exhibition and to conduct the 1st Wind Energy Day on 04 May 2010 to create added value for the actors within the industry”, comments Bent Christoffer, Network Coordinator of the Wind Energy Network Rostock e.V.
“This industry has a significant impact on our economy – particularly for its technological development potential, export volume, and last but not least, job creation. The renewable energies, and in particular the wind energy sector, are advancing quickly. We see significant growth potential here for our regional companies”, comments Chrisitan Weiß, Managing Director of Rostock Business.
