Competence and tradition

The aerospace industry has a long tradition in the Northeast. The first tests carried out by aviation pioneer Otto Lilienthal took place here. Advanced technologies such as the first turbo jet engine and the first liquid rocket propulsion were developed in this region. The aerospace industry is one of the growth industries of the Rostock region. It represents a major concentration of engineering services, in particular for all large Airbus programs including the A380.  Highly-qualified engineers and technicians are directly involved in the development, design and documentation of the Airbus products.
