Industry focuses
The aerospace industry has become a major growth industry of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and in particular of the Rostock region. A large number of local companies are working either directly or indirectly on products and solutions for this industry. Rostock’s strategic location and the close connection to the university lay the foundations for excellent perspectives for the industry. The aerospace industry is of immense importance to the labor market of the state, and the number of jobs created within the industry will continue to increase.
The focuses of the aerospace industry are in the areas of development services, such as
- final assembly of the Airbus A318, A319, A321
- part manufacture and delivery center for the Airbus A380
- maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities (MROs)
- electronics and microelectronics in the avionics field
- technical documentation, and spare parts supply and support
- civil aviation and international airport
